Past Works

D’Vorah Dance Arts approaches the creation of new works by responding to moments of inspiration. This inspiration may arise from an idea, topic, or feeling that calls for deeper exploration. The company values the creative process, treating it as an essential period that deserves careful attention and dedication.

The development of a new dance piece starts with fully nurturing a concept. This involves dedicating significant time to explore movement ideas, craft original choreography, and connect the themes of the work to the broader community. Each step in this process is honored to ensure the final piece is thoughtfully staged and presented.

Since its inception, D’Vorah Dance Arts has presented a variety of works. Below is a list of these pieces, showcasing the company's commitment to artistic exploration and community engagement.

For more details or inquiries about presenting any of these works, please contact Diana at Diana@dvorahdancearts.com.

Have a Seat

Premiered 2026

This work began with the creation of five solos, each centered on a different woman and the complexities of a particular stage of life. Together, these stories journey through experiences both personal and universal: feeling like a wizard capable of making the impossible possible; feeling trapped by forces beyond our control despite our efforts to resist them; surviving life's challenges and emerging as though we've traveled to the farthest reaches of the universe; recognizing the need to lean into community for guidance and wisdom; navigating friendship while calling upon our ancestors for strength and direction; and ultimately arriving in a kind of utopian landscape, where the world continues to spin around us, yet we discover how to embrace the chaos, find joy, and savor the ride.
